Business Development Associate (New York, NY)

Position description

Rhodium Group is a privately-owned independent investment research firm, specializing in the provision of China-focused macroeconomic research to institutional investors and other clients. The firm is currently planning to expand its sales team and is seeking a highly motivated self-starter. This is an exciting opportunity, with an excellent book upon which one can build a career in institutional sales, with an attractive compensation offered to the right individual with a strong business development track record and demonstrated interest and competence in the field of macroeconomic research.

Key Responsibilities

The right individual will start by providing account management support for institutional clients, before proceeding to source and develop new relationships within the North American investment management industry within the first year. RHG’s client base consists of large global asset managers and hedge funds.

qualifications & requirements

  • 2 years experience or more in sales and account management.
  • Self-motivated, driven professional who is able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record in developing commercial relationships with senior professionals, preferably within the financial industry.
  • An understanding of and interest in financial markets, economics, policy making and politics.
  • Capabilities to execute all stages of the sales cycle, including initial phone contact, meeting prospects, placing trials, relationship management and negotiating closing agreements.
  • Extraordinary verbal and written communication skills including sales presentations.
  • Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, or political science preferred.
  • Strong commitment to teamwork, preferably with experience of working as part of a global team, matched with the ability to work creatively and independently.
