Research Analyst: Cross-Border Investment (Mountain View, CA)

Rhodium Group (RHG) is recruiting a Research Analyst (RA) to support our Cross-Border Investment team starting in fall 2017 in Mountain View (California).

Rhodium Group (RHG) combines policy experience, quantitative economic tools and on- the-ground research to analyze disruptive global trends. Our work supports the investment management, strategic planning and policy needs of the financial, corporate, government, philanthropic and think tank communities through foundational market and policy-relevant research. RHG has offices in New York, California and Hong Kong.

Position and Responsibilities

The Research Analyst will be responsible for collecting, organizing, analyzing and presenting economic data using both public and commercial sources (e.g. CEIC, Bloomberg), drawing from academic and other economic research, analyzing company and analyst reports, and engaging in direct communication with contacts. RHG research staff are expected to conduct independent research and analysis, prepare draft materials for partners and senior associates, and generate their own contributions for our public and private readerships.


We are looking for individuals with the following qualifications:

  • An educational background demonstrating an interest and foundation in international economics;
  • A strong understanding of the economic, political and commercial dynamics in China and other emerging markets; knowledge of China’s cross border capital flows dynamics and external financial liberalization is a plus;
  • Proven ability to conduct independent and self-directed research;
  • Demonstrated familiarity with both quantitative and qualitative economic and market research methods; fluent use of all common MS Office software;
  • Native or near-native spoken and written English language skills, and a strong ability to draft and edit independently and effectively;
  • Ability to work legally in the United States (citizens, greencard holders, or holders of eligible student/work visas).
