Jacob Kirkegaard is a speaker at the Peterson Institute’s eighteenth semiannual Global Economics Prospects program, where he examined economic prospects and policy issues in Western Europe, where aggressive fiscal consolidation is under way in several countries. His fellow speakers were Michael Mussa (former chief economist at the International Monetary Fund, 1991-2001) and Joseph E. Gagnon (boasting a 25-year career with the US Federal Reserve), both senior fellows at PIIE.
