Clean Investment Monitor: Tracking Global Clean Technology Investment
Associate Director
Alfredo Rivera is an Associate Director in Rhodium's Energy & Climate practice, focusing on international energy and climate issues.
Energy & ClimateAlfredo works at the intersection of energy policy, climate data, and clean investment analysis at Rhodium Group, where he coordinates methodology implementation and oversees database management for the Clean Investment Monitor’s global tracking. In this role, he works across Rhodium teams to track clean energy and industrial investment across major technologies and geographies. During his time at Rhodium, Alfredo has contributed to a broad range of US and international climate and energy analysis, including the development of Rhodium’s Global Energy Model, non-CO2 gases projections, and the connection of model outputs with FaIR to estimate temperature rise outcomes for the Rhodium Climate Outlook. His work has also supported country-level emissions inventories, major economy emissions estimates, state-level emissions projections, and data products made available through ClimateDeck.
Before joining Rhodium, Alfredo served as an Energy Advisor for the Mexican House of Representatives, where he worked on oil resource and climate change strategies. Alfredo holds a Bachelor’s in Economics from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México and a Master’s in Public Policy from UC Berkeley, where he specialized in energy economics.

Clean Investment Monitor: Tracking Global Clean Technology Investment
Note
We find that global greenhouse gas emissions reached a new historical high in 2024, increasing 0.9% from the previous year.
Report
We provide probabilistic projections of the likely evolution of greenhouse gas emissions and associated temperature rise through the end of the century, and insights into what will matter most for decarbonization in the coming decades.
Report
In this first edition of the Clean Investment Monitor's global database, we explore how—after decades of national policy support, primarily in the US, China, and Europe—electric vehicles and batteries have been catapulted into mass commercialization.
