Join Asia Society Switzerland for an in-depth assessment of China’s economic reform with Daniel Rosen.
Five years ago, newly minted Chinese president and party secretary Xi Jinping announced a series of ambitious economic reforms. How have those efforts been going since then? In a time of heightened tensions between China and the U.S., and increased wariness of Western businesses towards China, it is crucial to understand which reforms are progressing, and which are stalling – and why. Dan Rosen, founder of Rhodium Group, will deliver an in-depth assessment of how China is faring with the attempted transformation of its economy, measured against its own plans.
The assessment is based on the China Dashboard, an interactive web platform launched in 2017 by the Asia Society Policy Institute and Rhodium Group. The Dashboard tracks China’s progress toward its self-defined economic reform goals. The online project, updated quarterly, allows readers to explore indicators on financial system reform, trade, cross-border investment, state-owned enterprise reform, fiscal realignment, and other critical areas.
