China’s Investment in Europe: Opportunities and Challenges

China’s annual corporate investment in Europe tripled last year to €7.4 billion, while the number of deals with a value of more than €800,000 doubled from fewer than 50 to almost 100 in 2010 and 2011. Chinese outbound global investment is estimated to reach over €1.6 trillion by 2020.

On Thursday 28th June the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China will host a full-day conference on Chinese Investment in Europe at the Hilton Beijing Hotel. Over 200 representatives from companies with investment interests in Europe will be present as well as senior representatives from the European Union, European Member States and Chinese government.

At this conference, leading European companies will provide strategic advice, in-depth analysis of opportunities and challenges for Chinese investors in Europe as well as a wide presentation of all investment opportunities available for them in the largest economic area of the world.

In this session, attendees will also have the chance to get a macro perspective of the investment outlook in Europe, through speeches from Chinese companies who have already invested in Europe sharing best practices, a wide overview of the opportunities that Europe presents to Chinese companies, as well as the finance vehicles available in Europe and the current and future economic outlook at the Union.
