Chinese companies and investors are making acquisitions in the US, as evidenced by recent purchase of Baccarat Hotel by Sunshine Insurance Group, as well as the sale of the Waldorf Astoria New York to Anbang Insurance Group Co. Whether they involve middle-market or Fortune 500 companies, cross-border transactions are complex, involving tax, legal, and financial considerations in both the US and china.
