National Venture Capital Association’s Emerging Technology Meets National Security conference will facilitate dialogue between emerging technology investors, companies, and Washington security agencies and professionals. The event will enable venture capital firms and technology companies to better understand the interests of U.S. national security agencies, particularly as they relate to foreign investment, technology transfer, and misappropriation. It will help firms and companies better understand national security legal and policy issues that will impact their strategic decision-making, including CFIUS, cybersecurity, export controls, sanctions, and anti-money laundering (AML). The conference will allow national security officials to better understand emerging technology interests and operating realities by explaining how young companies innovate, their need for capital to grow, and the role of venture capital.
Rhodium’s Thilo Hanemann will participate in a panel titled “One Year In: Lessons Learned from a Year Under FIRRMA and the CFIUS Pilot Program” with Alicia Novak of F-Prime Capital and Catherine Passmore Jones of Eight Roads, moderated by NVCA’s Jeff Farrah.
