Rick Waters Joins Rhodium Group as Senior Advisor
Rick will focus on the US-China relationship, Chinese politics, and regional dynamics.
Rhodium Group is pleased to welcome Rick Waters as a Senior Advisor with our China practice, focusing on the US-China relationship, Chinese politics, and regional dynamics.
Rick brings a unique perspective from three decades of experience as a career diplomat and advisor to leaders in business and government. Rick served as deputy assistant secretary of state for China and Taiwan and oversaw the creation of the Office of China Coordination, in addition to serving multiple positions at the US Embassy in Beijing. Rick is concurrently serving as director of Carnegie China, the Singapore-based research center of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. Prior to joining Rhodium Group, Rick served as a managing director at Eurasia Group.
Rick is fluent in Mandarin and holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Georgetown University Walsh School of Foreign Service. Rick is currently based in Singapore and makes frequent trips to China.
