Galen leads research focused on advancing emerging clean technologies to reach decarbonization goals. Her areas of expertise include hydrogen, economic impact modeling, and carbon capture and removal.

Galen joined Rhodium from Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment. At Duke, she taught a course on global climate policy, led students to the United Nations climate negotiations, and worked with a community in Puerto Rico to develop a solar-plus-storage microgrid. She has also served as an organizing director for environmental campaigns in Pennsylvania and California. Galen holds a Bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and a Master’s of Environmental Management from Duke University, where she also received certificates in International Development Policy and Climate Science and Applications.
