American Energy Productivity
RHG assesses the economic, environmental and security implications of the Alliance to Save Energy's goal of doubling US energy productivity by 2030, adopted by President Obama in his State of the Union Address.
The Alliance Commission on National Energy Efficiency Policy asked RHG to assess the economic, environmental and security implications of doubling US energy productivity (the amount of economic output possible for each BTU of energy consumed) by 2030. Our analysis, available below, was released alongside the Commission’s report on February 7, 2013 in Washington, DC. In his 2013 State of the Union Address, President Obama adopted this goal, calling on the country to cut energy waste in half by 2030.
